, 2002 is being rescheduled for a date
to be announced. All applicants are notified of the
following rules and regulations: 1) All applications must be made in triplicate;
one each for the health inspector, police department and the licensing board.
The licensing board application must be accompanied by a copy of the local
newspaper clipping of the notice stating the establishment's intentions of
applying for a liquor license. 2) All establishments must be inspected by the
health and police departments before any application is dealt with at the
meeting. 3) Every applicant must attend the meeting in person and only
applications received with the newspaper clipping will be considered. 4) All
establishments applying for a liquor license must display the required signs,
including the prohibition of alcohol to be sold to persons under the age of 18
years old and exit signs. 5) All persons applying for a liquor license must take
into consideration the sound-proofing of the establishment, especially those
located in or nearby residential areas. 6) The general public is advised that
the consumption of alcoholic beverages on streets, drains, curbs and sidewalks,
on occasions other than public or community functions, shall be considered an
offense.
The newly appointed San Pedro
Liquor Licensing Board consists of Chairman Santiago Acosta, Mayor Alberto
Nuñez, Inspector Linden Flowers and Health Inspector Javier Alpuche as Ex-oficio
members. Other members are: Nicolas Varela, Manuel del Valle, Hector Salazar and
Santiago Vasquez. The San Pedro Liquor Licensing Board
cautions the general public "If you drink, don't drive and if you drive, don't
drink!"
